“Gab and I began work late into Tribute 64, balancing both plans for a collaboration and our weekly video schedules for Video Game Covers on Youtube. Upon deciding we had to play a Banjo-Tooie song together, the arrangement was created to best incorporate the progressive-metal styles I’m familiar with and Gab’s penchant for punk. Through ideas for balancing each player’s styles and sounds, we integrated Jiggywiggy’s Temple as a resting middle-section as well as large synths that opened a nice contrasting area of the song. As with all Banjo-Kazooie music, Isle O’ Hags is about bouncy rhythms, singalong anthems, and surprisingly technical but lovable melodies throughout.”
