“First of all, I am very honored to be selected by Ian to contribute for this album! Early this year, I formed a group of very skilled musicians and arrangers to make Folk styled arrangements of game music. They became known as The Travelers and when Ian asked me to join, I initially wanted to do something orchestral but then I go the idea to do something Celtic and I knew this would be the perfect time to debut the group. I chose Kokiri Forest simply because it was the very first piece that I really clicked with in Ocarina of Time. For this, I changed the rhythm and added a lot of variation to the piece going from traditional Irish to a more Modern Irish sound (ala Mumford and Sons). I definitely wanted to preserve the bouncy, light, and upbeat nature of the original but adding a sense of a gathering among friends. And that is what The Travelers is at its core, a gathering of friends who embrace the unknown and no matter where you are from, your culture, your background, we tie it all together. Thank you and it is an honor! I hope you enjoy!”
