“N64 was a majestic era in video gaming. There’s something special about those games and the soundtracks that came with them. Diddy Kong Racing is one of my favorites from the console and the music holds some fond memories I closely cherish.
I chose this track specifically because it’s one of the best songs on the soundtrack in my opinion, it’s high energy, and to me it felt like a good keyboard-centric track. I really wanted to utilize Rhodes and organ in a way that would represent the original timbres along with synths that could really give it a unique new sound. It was important to me to have some real horns and banjo since my brother is a player. I'm really stoked on how all the different instruments are working together and while this song was very challenging to mix, I am very happy with how it turned out.”
