about

“I had such an unprecedented blast working on this track; it was an idea that I first had about a year and a half prior, but never bothered to fulfill until I was invited to pay tribute to the grandeur of the Nintendo 64. Every instrument in this track was modeled directly after a hybrid of far too many Symphony X songs, and what I felt a single song of theirs would sound like with the source materials from these Zelda tracks. I considered every member’s playing style from different eras of the band’s career, and I feel as though I pulled them off! The arrangement started simply as a combination of the first two tracks you hear, and it worked great, but in the passion of arranging and recording, I accidentally followed an idea to incorporate ‘Deku Tree’, and after just a couple of days, that idea evolved to become a fairly adequate transition into ‘Giant's Theme’. The song went from 3 and a half minutes to almost 6 minutes, and I worried myself that the song was growing beyond my control! As a music producer would say, ‘A song is never done; you just meet your deadline.’ In other words, there are plenty of things I could have done to make this song better, but I sincerely believe that I did the best I could within my natural abilities at the time I submitted it to the team, and that’s a clear testament to the fact that you never stop learning when you're a musician. I hope you folks love the song, most of all; I’m very proud of it, and just as proud to have been considered and accepted onto this beautiful beast of a compilation. That’s enough from me; I’ll let the music speak for itself from here!”
